The short version: Rot Flush is a family study app run by parents. Parents scan schoolwork into a private vault; kids do practice their parents send them. We collect only what the app needs to work, we never sell data, we show no ads, and we use no third-party analytics or tracking. Kids never create accounts.
We do not collect location, contacts, advertising identifiers, or browsing history, and we run no analytics or advertising SDKs.
Scanned schoolwork is processed by large-language-model providers (routed through OpenRouter to providers such as Anthropic and Google) to read, tag, and grade pages and to generate practice quizzes and study guides. Pages are sent for processing only — we do not permit these providers to use your content for advertising, and content is transmitted solely to produce the study materials you asked for.
Rot Flush is operated by parents. All information about a child (first name, grade, scanned schoolwork) is provided by the child's own parent or guardian, which is how the app obtains parental consent. We do not collect personal information directly from children, kids see no ads, there is no open chat for kids, and kid sessions are pseudonymous tokens. A parent can delete any scan, any kid profile, or the whole account at any time (see below).
Everything is stored in Amazon Web Services (private S3 storage and DynamoDB, US region) under keys scoped to your family. Scans are never public and are visible only to the parents on your family account.
Inside the app, parents can delete individual scans and archive or delete kid profiles. To delete your entire account and every scan, profile, and record attached to it, email shortbreadapps@gmail.com from your account email with the subject "Delete my Rot Flush account" — we complete deletion within 30 days and confirm by reply.
